DIVERSITY/INCLUSION AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS EFFORT WITH TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS
Atiba T. Edwards and Sheryl Victor Levy Tapped for New Roles Leading
CIG’s Equity and Promotional Committees
NEW YORK, NY (July 6, 2020) - New York City’s Cultural Institutions Group (CIGs) -- the 151-year old public-private initiative providing support to 34 institutions, across all five boroughs—today announced the appointment of two important Committee Chair roles, designed to help the group reinforce New York City’s continued status as the cultural capital of the world. Confirmed for the pro bono positions in May, Atiba T. Edwards –EVP and Chief Operating Officer at Brooklyn Children’s Museum-- chairs the CIG’s Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion Committee; and Sheryl Victor Levy --Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Museum of the City of New York-- chairs the Communications Committee.

Atiba Edwards is the Executive VP & COO of Brooklyn Children’s Museum overseeing finance, HR, visitor experience, marketing, membership, facilities, building operations and several other areas. Prior to joining Brooklyn Children’s Museum, he co-led a charter middle school in Brooklyn, NY and, before that he spent five years in Investment Banking at JPMorgan and Nomura Securities covering the Automotive, Healthcare, Industrials and Defense sectors. Born on the island of St. Vincent in the Caribbean and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, Atiba graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering and General Studies with a focus in Poetry and Musicology.
Sheryl Victor Levy is Vice President, Marketing and Communications for the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY) overseeing: branding, public relations, marketing, digital, visitor experience, and tourism. Prior to MCNY, Sheryl was Senior Director of Digital Strategy for Phil & Co. With over 20 years of experience on the agency and brand side, Sheryl spent the first part of her career leading marketing and licensing for MTV, VH1, Universal Music Group and Hearst. She has also held marketing strategy positions at Webex and USA Networks. Sheryl is an accomplished public speaker, instructor at New York University, and board member of New York Women in Communications. Sheryl holds a B.S. from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
