The Manager of Membership is a critical team member who will be charged with developing a robust, mission-aligned membership program. The Manager is responsible for raising approximately $500,000 in annual revenue through renewal and acquisition of over 3,000 members. NYSCI is pioneering innovative approaches to STEM learning and engagement, and developing new and refreshed exhibits and experiences that create an exciting environment for membership growth. The manager will translate these exciting opportunities to current and future audiences in order to enhance and communicate the value of membership. They will collaborate with colleagues on NYSCI’s fundraising, marketing, and public programs teams to initiate creative approaches to expand our reach, including digital marketing campaigns, online solicitation, onsite sales, and member events.
Queens Botanical Garden’s Membership program is currently comprised of over 1,200 households and offers benefits such as free admission, discounted access to QBG programs, and invitations to Members-Exclusive events. The Membership Coordinator will oversee all aspects of QBG’s membership program, including solicitation, gift entry, membership card processing, troubleshooting, and stewardship of active and prospective members. They will collaborate with Garden leadership to design and implement strategies to grow the number of member households and seek to inspire members to become donors. This is a largely operations-focused role that also interfaces with members and the general public on a regular basis; therefore, the Coordinator will possess administrative, office, and customer service skills. As a member of the Development Department, the Membership Coordinator will provide general support for the department’s ongoing work, especially special event planning. The Membership Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Development.
