Postdoctoral Fellows will work with individuals with a wide range of perspectives and areas of expertise to conceptualize, define, and pursue research agendas focused on equitable approaches to informal STEM learning. NYSCI is seeking a post-doctoral level research associate to contribute to a research-practice partnership that brings together museum educators, caregivers, and pre-K educators at a new, STEAM-focused public preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds located on NYSCI’s campus. Working with stakeholders across the partnership, the associate will study how families navigate learning experiences across formal and informal settings, how educators across sites approach the process of identifying and centering families’ knowledge and cultural practices, and the evolution of children's learning and caregivers' involvement in shared family learning experiences across community contexts. The associate will advance this line of work by developing theoretical frameworks, gathering research evidence with various community members, and examining current educational practices. At NYSCI, the Research Associate will work closely with two Director-level researchers and will supervise one or more research assistants to develop and conduct this work.
The Director of Philanthropy (Director) will be a key leader driving NYSCI’s impact, locally and globally, by securing crucial support for the institution and its programs. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), the Director serves as a leadership member of the Institutional Advancement team and an active participant in making strategic decisions to drive forward NYSCI’s annual strategies for raising unrestricted charitable gifts. In partnership with the CAO, this position is responsible for strategic fundraising and development activities related to NYSCI’s annual gala, the President’s Council and the Corporate Partners program, as well as NYSCI’s Membership program.

These responsibilities encompass oversight of the activities of revenue-generating units including group sales, general sales, birthday parties, parking, gift shop, café and ancillary attractions, with the goal of growing revenue.
NYSCI is seeking a post-doctoral level research associate to join our multidisciplinary and collaborative research and development team. This Research Associate will lead the development of a new program of research focused on NYSCI's community engagement programs. With core funding from the Simons Foundation, NYSCI is working closely with local families, schools, and community organizations to engage children and adults in STEM learning that is personal, relevant, inspiring and empowering. Over the next five years, NYSCI staff will be expanding and deepening this body of work, including the creation of a new after-school program for elementary-grade youth, new family programs, and a partnership with a new, STEAM-focused public preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds located on NYSCI's campus.
