Development Assistant, Operations
The Brooklyn Museum is seeking a passionate, forward-thinking, creative, and art-loving individual to fulfill a crucial operations role as Development Assistant.
The Development department is responsible for all fundraising activities, events, and liaising with key stakeholders across donor constituencies. It serves as the focal point of the Museum’s relationships with its supporters and key influencers in the community, as well as with the Museum’s programming and curatorial staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Demonstrated experience using Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database (e.g., Tessitura) at a nonprofit organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong technology skills and computer literacy
Aptitude for maintaining and creating systems, strong analytical ability, and attention to detail required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
Responsibilities:
Operations:
Assist with the processing of all gifts received via lockbox, non-lockbox, and online channels, including credit card processing and checks received in-house
Assist with data cleanup and field mapping for CRM transition from Salesforce to Raiser’s Edge
Assist with data cleanup, field mapping, and research for eventual transition to new CRM
Enter and update donor/prospect information in donor database on a regular basis with efficiency and accuracy
Assist all other team members: i.e., Individual, Membership, Corporate, Institutional Giving, and Special Events with related gifts information retrieval
Research:
Assist with conducting research and preparing briefing materials for the Museum’s director, gift officers, and managers of foundation and corporate relations
Assist with building and maintaining research queries and reports
Additional Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of funding meetings, department meetings, and moves management meetings for the Museum’s director and gift officers
Participate in planning long- and short-term development strategies to meet department fundraising goals
