Education Associate

Education Associates provide Snug Harbor with programming and maintain reliable, consistent service. Snug Harbor Education works with a broad variety of people, providing programming to school-age students, seniors, tourists, and any group that services curious minds. Education Associates play a crucial role in engaging visitors more deeply with Snug Harbor, past and present. They ensure a positive visitor experience, acting as a friendly and informed first point of contact. Programs happen at Snug Harbor, in senior centers and neighborhood centers, and in school classrooms.

Visitor Services Associate

The Visitor Services Associate (VSA) provides customer service to visitors of Snug Harbor, ensuring a positive experience by acting as a friendly and informed first point of contact. VSAs are stationed at critical locations throughout campus to welcome visitors, to provide information, access and support, and to direct people toward relevant programs. The VSA offers comprehensive information about the site and its programming to all visitors, looking for opportunities to provide a deeper visitor experience. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Education & Visitor Services (SMEVS), with training and supervision provided by the SMEVS and established Visitor Services Associates.

Admission Cashier

Admission Cashier/ Greeters at Queens Botanical Garden have the primary responsibility of operating the ticketing booth, selling admission and parking to guests, staffing the reception desk, selling concessions and admitting members and groups. Greeting duties include providing customer service; fielding questions about the Garden, providing wayfinding directions as well as providing information about upcoming programs and events. The cashier must be knowledgeable about the Garden’s admission and parking pricing policies as well as on the benefits of Garden membership.

Seasonal Garden Assistant

The Horticulture Department seeks individuals with an interest in public horticulture to assist with gardening work during the 2023 growing season. Duties and responsibilities include assisting horticulture staff in the planting, cultivating, and care of trees, shrubs, flowers and other flora as well as leading a group of 5-6 student youth in these same tasks for 6 weeks in July and August.

Front Desk Attendant

The Operations Department is seeking part-time Front Desk Attendants to provide exceptional customer service at the 440 Lafayette Street (Public Studios) Information Desk. As a Front Desk Attendant, you will serve as the face of The Public for patrons and as a liaison between artists and staff, and between departments.
